Where to get Latin American food in Taipei

Hey everyone! I’m here with a restaurant recommendation for Peruvian food in Taipei today. This was a really surprising find by my friend Nate, who recently moved back to Taipei after living in Colombia for a few years. We went to check out this small restaurant near Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall, on the Green and Red MRT lines.

The restaurant is called 秘魯烤雞 Polleria and is open from 12-2:30 PM and 5-9 PM, closed Mondays. I highly recommend their juicy rotisserie chicken which is cooked for 48 hours in an oven that was imported from the USA. I got one of the main courses, number 2, which came with 1/4 chicken, green rice, freshly-cut french fries, peruvian sauce and a drink. The menu sets offered fries, salad or both as side options. I traded the soda for the chicha morada which is a Peruvian drink made from purple corn. It came in a wine glass and tasted like grape juice (imho) but I think I would go for the Inca Kola next time if they have it. (It’s seasonal and wasn’t in store this time around)

Highly recommend if you’re craving non-Taiwanese food in Taipei!

Price range: 299 NT - 399 NT for the set menu depending on your sides
