Chloe Chows With Vincent

I’m getting married, y’all! Best of all - to the love of my life that shares my core values, devotion to family, humor and passions. This store is where I first visited when I came to Las Vegas in 2011/2012, where he filled a bag of his favorite Asian snacks, candy and drinks and gave it to me to enjoy with my family. Needless to say, I was smitten. Heart eyes galore. They say that food is a way to ones heart - but if you know me, you know that it is a true love language that you must share to be able to communicate with me. This guy really knew how to woo me!

When living in Florida, I used to drive 1.5-2 hours away from where I lived in Vero Beach to seek out authentic Asian grocery stores to find the products I needed to make the dishes that I missed. I went almost every weekend to stock up on goods, thinking that I just needed more sauces/more noodles/more (fill in the blank) - but in reality, it was the closest thing that reminded me of him. Asian grocery stores provided solace amidst a long distance relationship. A Korean owner recognized me because I came so often - he asked me about my plans in Taiwan, trying to converse with me in Mandarin (he had studied Mandarin there, too!) but faltering because I had zero ability to converse at the time, which was embarrassing to me. After Florida, I moved to Taiwan and took pictures of the grocery store aisles in PX Mart (‎全聯) and sent them to my now-fiancé to show him all of the different products they sold. One might think it’s just a place to replenish their groceries, but to me it was a place of comfort. I was able to find the products that reminded me of home; I was excited to find hummus at Carrefour in Taiwan and hot cheetos at Jasons Market Place.

We chose to take our engagement photos here because it’s a place that holds a lot of memories and means quite a bit to both of us. It’s a place that we both call home. Hope these pictures make you smile :)

Love, Chloe
